Lanzarote’s establishments achieved during the month of September to overcome the average occupancy level of 85.15 percent, achieving the second-highest total of nine months of 2011.
According to the study prepared monthly by ASOLAN, in the ninth months of 2011, occupancy in hotels apartments on the island rose, on average, more than 15 percentage points over the level achieved in occupation September 2010.
By segment, 4-star hotels exceeded 89.86 percent, followed by apartments with an average of 85.01 and the aparthotel, with a level of 85.42.
The 6 luxury 5-star hotels recorded an occupancy rate of 73.13 and bungalows, 75.66. With these figures, September became the second best month of 2011 after August with an average of 87.04, and is now higher than July, with 83.65.
For the president of ASOLAN, Susana Perez, this data confirm that this is a positive recovery of tourism in Lanzarote and the Canary Islands.
