The low-cost Spanish airline Volotea will open three new routes between Lanzarote and France starting this winter, specifically with the cities of Bordeaux, Marseille and Toulouse. These three new connections between the airport of Guacimeta and the Gallic country are added to the existing one with Nantes, inaugurated last November.
The Councilor for Tourism Promotion of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Ángel Vázquez (PP), highlights “the importance of this news not only because it is another example of the confidence that the airlines are depositing with our destination, but because within our strategy of diversification of the markets, French tourism is one of our main bets. “
In this sense, the managing director of Tourism Lanzarote, Hector Fernandez, also highlights that “the French tourist, with a high potential spending at destination, tune with our model as well as assessing the sustainability and gastronomic offer insular, participates in numerous sports and leisure activities in general “.
As with Nantes, the new connections will have a weekly frequency, specifically on Saturdays. They will be operational between December 22 and March 9.
This new opening comes after the loss of two important island connections following the departure of the Air Berlin airlines and the suspension of Monarch Airline of all its island connections upon entering bankruptcy.
