The General Meeting of SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, held this Wednesday, definitively approved the Entity’s accounts for 2019, whose turnover amounted to a total of 3,216,411.16 euros, with the favorable report of the accounting audit and external financial activity to which SPEL submits for the fourth consecutive year on a voluntary basis, in an exercise of transparency and improvement of accounting adjustments. For Ángel Vázquez, the results of this audit “indicate the Entity’s accounting and administrative rigor and account for the optimal and balanced management carried out by SPEL.”
In this way, the highest governing body of the insular entity of promotion has today ratified accounts that represent about 160,000 euros more than in 2018, whose turnover amounted to 3,056,683.15 euros and that show an accounting profit of 8,184.72 euros, which in practice supposes a balanced adjustment between the Entity’s income and expenses.
On the other hand, the Board of Directors of the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society (SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote) approved on Wednesday the signing of a collaboration agreement with Magma Coworking SL for the development of the project called ‘Proposal for the positioning of Lanzarote in the Premium segment. Marketing strategy and roadmap ‘, which has the support of more than a hundred business entities on the island.
According to the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Mª Dolores Corujo, “this initiative is a reflection of our commitment to making tourism on the island compatible with sustainability and with our determined fight against climate change, where practices prevail responsible for the environment and quality “. Likewise, the president points out that this project “must also contribute to the progress of the most sensitive social classes in the current context derived from the Covid-19 crisis, by supplying a shock to the main engine of the island economy, which is tourism.”
For his part, the Councilor for Tourism Promotion of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Ángel Vázquez, highlights “the support and trust placed both by Magma Coworking and by the more than one hundred companies involved so that Lanzarote Tourism pilots this project, which seeks to implement targeted measures to raise the global qualification of the destination as well as to attract to the island a high-end and demanding client with care for the environmental environment. “
In this sense, the counselor recalls that Turismo Lanzarote “has been working for years to attract more and more to the island to this Premium segment through the ‘Signature Lanzarote’ worktable in which 5-star and superior hotels participate. “and highlights” the international business career of the Martínez Group to which Magma Coworking belongs, with almost one hundred years of history and its commitment to developing real and tangible projects that generate new opportunities for economic development and social impact on the island. “
In another order of things, the Board of Directors of SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote held today approved the incorporation of three new sponsors to the insular entity for promotion: OK Lanzarote (Luis Alberto Manzano Pérez), Centro Especial de Empleo Servidis SL and Casas Heddy Española SA
