British Consulate and Lanzarote Business and Residents Association meeting
 
This week the association was delighted to have been invited to a meeting with the newly appointed Consular Regional Director for Europe South, Fleur Willson, representing the association was LBRA president, Daniel Trigg, also in attendance were Charmaine Arbouin – Consular Regional Operations Manager Andalusia and Canary Islands, Sue Thain – Honorary Consul Lanzarote and Jackie Stevenson – Vice Consul Las Palmas Province.
 
Daniel had the opportunity to explain to Fluer the work the association does in both promoting Lanzarote as a holiday destination as well as a place to live and invest in, and its strong role in supporting the community and working closely with the authorities to ensure we keep up to date with any changes in regulations, and ensuring we have our say in how the island continues to move forward. Also discussed were the ramifications following Brexit, residency, TIE, driving licences and all the other issues created by the decision to leave. The current health situation was also discussed as well as the impact the coronavirus has had on tourism.  The meeting concluded successfully with all parties in agreement that they would continue to work together for the benefit of the islands, its residents and visitors.
