The César Manrique airport reached 632,229 passengers last November, that is, 11.2% more than before the pandemic, a figure that places it in third place on the islands.

 

The Canarian airports as a whole closed last month exceeding passenger traffic by 4.5% compared to the same month of 2019. In total, 4,001,633 travelers passed through the airports of the archipelago. Of the total number of passengers on commercial flights, 3,958,171, 1,490,652 correspond to national traffic, 4.7% more than in the same month of 2019, and 2,467,519 to international traffic, 3.5% more.

 

The Canary Islands airports with the highest passenger traffic were those of Gran Canaria with 1,197,740 (+0.6%) and Tenerife Sur with 1,063,065 (+8.3%), followed by Lanzarote. They are followed by Fuerteventura Airport, with 493,619 (+6.3%); Tenerife North- City of La Laguna, with 469,801 (0%); La Palma, with 114,174 (-8%); El Hierro, with 23,175 (-0.1%) and La Gomera, with 7,830 passengers (+61.1%).

 

Regarding the number of operations, 36,779 movements were recorded in November, which is 7.1% more than the operations registered in the same month of 2019.

 

Regarding freight traffic, 2,667 tons were transported, a figure that represents a recovery of 86.5% compared to the same month in 2019.

 

Until the penultimate month of the year, the number of passengers registered at Canarian airports amounted to 39,322,841, with a recovery of 95.6% compared to the same period in 2019, prior to the pandemic. Of the total number of commercial passengers (38,950,522), 16,313,782 correspond to domestic flights, which represents a recovery of 97.6% taking into account the same months of 2019; and 22,636,740 to international flights, a 93.8% recovery over the figures in the same period of 2019.

 

The number of movements registered between January and November 2022 was 368,020, with a recovery of 98.1% compared to the same period in 2019, and the merchandise traffic recorded so far is 28,393 tons, which represents a recovery of 84.6% of the figures with respect to the accumulated of the year 2019 mentioned.
