Lanzarote Airport is the lowest-rated of the Canary Islands airports, which nevertheless rank among the 250 best in the world. According to the AirHelp Score 2025 ranking, César Manrique Airport is ranked last among the airports rated in the Canary Islands. Specifically, Lanzarote is ranked 187th out of the 250 best-rated airports in the world. Of the islands, Fuerteventura is ranked highest, at 88th; the second-best airport in the Canary Islands is Tenerife North, at 105th; Gran Canaria is ranked third, at 138th; and Tenerife South is ranked fourth, at 154th. In total, 14 airports from all over Spain were included, five of which are in the Canary Islands. It should be noted that they are rated based on punctuality , passenger experience , and the quality of services offered , as reported by Diario de Avisos.

Bilbao Airport leads the national ranking and is ranked 16th worldwide, making it the second-best airport in Europe.

The AirHelp Score, developed by the international organization AirHelp, which specializes in defending air passenger rights, analyzes data from 250 airports in 68 countries. In this edition, Spanish airports were prominent, including new additions from the Canary Islands.

Bilbao Airport has achieved an overall score of 8.16, driven by its high punctuality rate (8.3), positive user reviews (8.0), and the quality of its services (7.7). This result places it not only as the best in Spain, but also the second in Europe, in a context in which European airports still cannot match the performance of their counterparts in the Middle East, South Africa, or North America.

In second place nationwide is Seville Airport, climbing 30 places compared to 2024 and reaching 68th place in the global ranking. With an average score of 7.78, it stands out for its passenger satisfaction (8.1), punctuality (7.9), and services rated 7.2.

Meanwhile, Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport experienced a significant decline, dropping 26 places to 76th in the world. Although it maintained a notable score of 7.75, it lost its second place in the country to Seville.

The Canary Islands are celebrating the inclusion of four new airports in the 2025 ranking: Fuerteventura (88th), Tenerife North (105th), Gran Canaria (138th), and Lanzarote (187th), which join the existing Tenerife South (154th). This means that the archipelago now has five airports among the best in the world according to AirHelp.

Valencia ranks fourth nationally and 81st worldwide, with a score of 7.73. It is followed by Fuerteventura (88) and Tenerife Norte (105). Málaga is ranked 124th internationally, having advanced 55 places, while Alicante climbs to 126th.

Barcelona-El Prat, traditionally among the most prominent, drops 38 places to 127th, placing it ninth in the country. Gran Canaria closes the Spanish top 10, debuting at 138th.

The two Balearic airports included in the ranking, Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca, suffered a significant decline. Ibiza dropped 125 places to 203rd, and Palma dropped 86, to 208th.

Despite a slight improvement, Europe only manages to place one airport among the top ten in the world. Regulation EC 261, which focuses on delays of more than three hours, limits regional efficiency compared to other areas where stricter criteria apply.

In the AirHelp Score 2025 ranking, the Middle East, South Africa, and North America dominate the top positions thanks to improved results in punctuality, passenger satisfaction, and service offered.
