Lanzarote airport lost 2.1 million passengers in the first half of 2020, according to Aena figures published in the Cabildo Data Center. And it is that, from January to June this year, there were 1,426,083 travelers received by the Conejero aerodrome compared to 3,591,445 in the same period of 2019, which represents a decrease of 60.3%.

In April and May, in full alarm for the coronavirus pandemic, the César Manrique airport in Lanzarote only registered 11,430 passengers , 3,142 in the first month and 8,288 in the second. As a result, passenger traffic fell 99.5% in April and 98.5% in May. Already in June, with the end of the de-escalation, the number of passengers at the Lanzarote airport rose to 40,966 . However, compared to the same month of 2019, a decrease of 93.2% is reflected.

As for the first three months of the year, passenger traffic also fell. Specifically, in January it did so by 7.1% when it received 528,733 passengers, while in February, with 542,349 travelers, it fell by 1.8%. In March, with the beginning of the health crisis, 302,605 passengers were received by the Lanzarote airport, 54.8% less than last year.
