The port of Arrecife has been given an award at Seatrade Cruises, the world’s largest trade show being held this week in Miami, the international journal of Dream World Cruise Destinations. El Puerto de la Luz, Las Palmas, has also been given an award.
Specifically, the port of Arrecife was awarded the Best Destination for Independent Experience Cruiser 2010, given the facilities of the island that suit someone on an independent stay, according to the opinions of the cruise passengers arriving at Arrecife. Lanzarote port competed for this award against more than six finalists: Copenhagen, Honolulu, the Caribbean island of San Vicente, Monte Carlo, Valletta (Malta) and San Juan de Puerto Rico.
Moreover, the port of Las Palmas was distinguished by Dream World Cruise Destinations as the port with the best connections, offering transportation, hotels, baggage handling and level of tourism in the category Best Turnaround Port Operations 2010. El Puerto de La Luz competed against six finalists: Barbados, Dubai, Fort Lauderdale, Montreal, Johannesburg and Vancouver.
