The local Government has already signed with the record company Torresci SL to the start of construction of the bicycle lane, which will run between the Grand Hotel in Arrecife, and the bus station, near the headquarters of the Cabildo de Lanzarote. This work will involve a transformation of Avenida Fred Olson, which shall be two-way.
Although the public were not officially informed about this project until this Thursday through a press release, the work was awarded to the company Torresci SL on 30th August for an amount of 202,735.98 euros. It will last six months, so that the date of construction is scheduled to be the next April 6, 2012.
This project will change the look of the Avenida de el Reducto, which after the work will be both ways . Thus, vehicles that want to go to the Cabildo from the Gran Hotel will not have to go the long way round, as they do today.
