According to the latest municipal register prepared by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) -which is echoed by the Data Center of the Cabildo de Lanzarote in terms of the figures referring to this Island- Haría is the Lanzarote municipality that has increased its population the most of law .

 

Specifically, on January 1, 2021 – the date of publication of the last municipal register by the INE – the northern municipality officially had 5,365 inhabitants , almost 2% more than those registered on January 1, 2020. However, Haría it continues to be the least populated municipality on the island.

 

On the opposite side was the most populated, Arrecife , which with its 64,497 inhabitants reflected a decrease of 0.2% in its population by law, as did San Bartolomé, which as of January 1 of last year officially counted 19,058 inhabitants , 41 less than the previous year.

 

However, the Lanzarote municipality that has suffered the greatest percentage loss of the right population is Yaiza , which had 16,977 inhabitants at the beginning of 2021, 0.4% less than the previous year.

 

On the contrary, the other two Lanzarote tourist municipalities saw their population increase compared to the 2020 standard. Teguise, by 1.5% when officially counting 23,044 inhabitants as of January 1, 2021, and Tías by 0.8% when adding 20,801 .
