The councils of Haria and Teguise have advised against swimming in the beaches by the massive presence of jellyfish , as reported by both consistories to The Voice. The jellyfish were found on the beach in La Garita, Arrieta, and have been extended to Famara, as noted by the council of Teguise, Rita Martin.
Teguise expected them to arrive within hours to Costa Teguise, so this recommendation has been extended to the beaches of this resort, which has also raised the red flag. “We want the swimmers to be cautious and know what is in the water”.
Rita Martin has said that the Red Cross are on the beach informing users and bathers in this situation. Also, the City is proceeding with the withdrawal of jellyfish from the edge of the coast.
