JUSTIFICATION OF THE INITIATIVE
The current regulation, constituted by Decree 113/2015 of 22 May, which approves the Regulation of Vacational Homes of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, although it responded to the need to fill the regulatory vacuum derived from the exclusion of the scope of the Law on Urban Leases of this type of rental of dwellings, commercialized or promoted in channels of tourism and made for profit, contributing to offer for the first time a regulatory framework of this reality on the basis of considering it as a modality of tourist accommodation, however, has proved insufficient to give a satisfactory answer to the problems detected in its practical application.
