THANKS TO DIGITAL LANCELOT

 

The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the CEO of CACT Lanzarote, Benjamín Perdomo, and the CEO of SPEL, Héctor Fernández, attended the inauguration of the World Travel Market 2022 in London on Monday, November 7.

 

 

 

 

This first major tourism fair since the end of the pandemic is attended by the President of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, and the Minister of Tourism, Reyes Maroto, among other political authorities, and will run until this Wednesday. During the three days, the Island Council will hold 33 meetings with agents, entities and tourist organizations from the UK and other countries.

 

The CEO of the CACT, Benjamín Perdomo, stressed that “our first objective here is to see first-hand the strength of the British market, which points to great growth ahead of the winter period, and to continue promoting sustainability in the sector through of the more than 30 meetings that we organize”.

 

“Thanks to these meetings we open the doors to new markets, to different profiles of tourists and we reinforce connectivity with Great Britain, mainly, although we also create new routes for the future on the Island,” Perdomo pointed out.

 

For his part, the CEO of the Society for Foreign Promotion of Lanzarote, Héctor Fernández, explained that “some five meetings are planned that revolve around sustainability and to strengthen the positioning of the Island in the British market as a sustainable tourist destination” .

 

“It will be an intense work of several days focused on providing the world with the best image of Lanzarote as a destination and publicizing the improvements in our tourism model in order to strengthen current markets and create new opportunities in line with what we have been developing,” Fernández added.

 

This 43rd edition of the World Travel Market is attended by more than 2,500 tourist representatives from more than 100 countries around the world, who will present their products and destination offers.
