The Meteorological Agency in the Canary Islands (AEMET) has activated the yellow alert for risk of high temperatures on the islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife during the day on Wednesday, September 7.
The thermometers, AEMET say, are expected to reach 35 degrees maximum in all the islands except in Tenerife, where the highest temperature will be 34. The alert will run from 11:00 to 18:00 hours on Wednesday.
In Gran Canaria, high temperatures will affect mainly the east, south and west of the island, as well as in Tenerife. In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the notice includes the whole island.
