The Canarian airports close the year with more than 48 million passengers and 439,016 operations

The César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport registered 8,212,943 passengers throughout 2023, which represents an increase of 11.7% compared to 2022. In the month of December, Lanzarote registered 702,865 passengers, which represents an 8.2 % more than in December 2022.

 

As a whole, the airports of the Canary Islands closed 2023 with a record of passenger traffic of 48,436,168, 11.4% more than last year, and operations with 439,016, 7.9% more, figures never reached in a annual exercise.

 

In addition, the airports of Gran Canaria, Tenerife South, Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna, César Manrique-Lanzarote, El Hierro and La Gomera registered passenger records in 2023. Of the total number of travelers registered in 2023, 48,032,586 corresponded to passengers on commercial flights, of which 19,786,047 traveled on domestic flights, 10.6% more than in 2022, and 28,246,539 traveled on international flights, exceeding the figure from the previous year by 12.2%.

 

Throughout the year, 30,692 tons of merchandise were transported, 1.8% less than last year.
