The Governing Council of the Canary Islands has decided this Thursday to maintain the alert levels in all the islands. This means that Lanzarote will continue for at least seven more days in the second phase.

The news comes a few hours after a new death  from Covid-19 was known, that of a 70-year-old woman who had been admitted to the ICU since last January. On the other hand, the island currently registers 82 active cases after registering 23 medical discharges and only four cases in the last 24 hours.

With regard to hospital pressure, there are three people admitted for coronavirus at the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote, one of which is in the Intensive Care Unit.

The island that presents the most worrying epidemiological indicators is Tenerife, also at level 2, which this Thursday accumulates 128 of the 161 cases registered in the Canary Islands.
