Thanks to  LANCELOT DIGITAL – Lanzarote will have 11.3 million euros for Municipal Cooperation and Employment plans

The last plenary session of the Cabildo de Lanzarote approved the nomination of more than 11.3 million euros to the town councils through the Municipal Cooperation Plans, with a total of 8.6 million euros, and the Employment Plan, which will allocate 2.7 million euros.

 

“The objective”, as explained by the Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, “is to put out to tender lots of works that benefit the largest possible number of companies in Lanzarote and thereby promote job creation among small and medium-sized companies to alleviate the difficult economic situation we are experiencing “.

 

In Medina’s opinion, “this ambitious Municipal Cooperation Plan will not only boost employment, but will also respond to the main municipal demands in terms of social, cultural and sports infrastructures, fundamentally”.

 

The Municipal Cooperation Plan

 

The nomination of the 8.6 million euros of the Municipal Cooperation Plan has been processed based on dialogue and consensus with the seven municipalities to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the island population. Thus, the consistories will be the ones to draft the projects, based on neighborhood demands, while the Cabildo will finance the works.

 

In this way, the City Council of Tías will receive the total amount of 1,138,742 euros to finance works as important as the reform of the Puerto del Carmen soccer field or the adaptation of the multipurpose building. The Tinajo consistory, for its part, will have a grant of 466,849 euros for the renovation works of the socio-cultural centers of La Santa and El Cuchillo, as well as resurfacing works on several streets.

 

990,914 euros will be allocated to the Yaiza City Council for the repair and implementation of playgrounds and provision of urban furniture; the project for the execution of the pre-collection point for waste in Playa Blanca and the shooting range.

 

The City Council of Teguise will have a subsidy of 1,286,427 euros for the rehabilitation and improvement projects of the sports fields and playgrounds in the municipality; adaptation of the facilities of the Caleta de Sebo Sociocultural Center and public lighting on Avenida Islas Canarias in Costa Teguise. Haría will receive the amount of 403,806 euros for the refurbishment works of the CEIP San Juan and the resurfacing of several streets, while the City Council of San Bartolomé will benefit from 1,067,051 euros for the adaptation project and facilities in the San Juan sports center Bartolomé and the extension of the cemetery.

 

Finally, the capital of the island, Arrecife, will receive 3,246,000 euros for the works to adapt the playgrounds and bio-healthy spaces; the remodeling of the changing rooms of the Argana Alta soccer field; the adaptation of the Titerroy sports hall, as well as the renovation of the public lighting in the Charco de San Ginés.

 

The “most ambitious Employment Plan in history”

 

During the same plenary session, the “most ambitious employment plan in the island’s history” was given the green light, with an allocation of 1,800,000 euros for the implementation of the “Program: 3.4.3 Employment Plan for Local Corporations of Lanzarote. Lanzarote Strategy 2016-2025 “, to which 900,000 euros of own funds will be added to serve the most vulnerable groups.
