Monday 31 will not be a Fiesta for the Day of the Canary Islands
The most important day of the Archipelago arrives, the Day of the Canary Islands, and this year it falls on a Sunday. Inevitably a question arises, will it be a holiday on Monday, May 31? There are already numerous acts prepared on all the islands and in each municipality and traditionally it is a holiday, but this year it falls on a Sunday and makes everyone wonder whether or not it will go to Monday.
The answer is no. The Government of the Canary Islands approved last October the calendar of labor holidays of the Archipelago for 2021 and did not include the transfer from May 30 to May 31, so that Monday will be a normal working day in the islands.
The next regional festival will be on Monday, August 16, work break corresponding to the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin as it coincides on Sunday, August 15, a festival that has moved to Monday.
