Maestro Music Management open their Autumn 2011 Season with an extraordinary Piano Extravaganza!

Maestro Music Management?s exciting and varied new season for Autumn 2011 opens on Saturday 10 September at 8pm with an extraordinary Piano Extravaganza at the stylish and sophisticated Puerto Calero Marina. Onstage there will be not only one piano,but two – and not only one pianist, but four!

This unique evening will feature the renowned chamber pianist Robin Colvill alongside the remarkable piano duo, Joseph Tong and Waka Hasegawa, and a guest pianist from Lanzarote.

These four outstanding pianists will perform a diverse and entertaining programme of specially-arranged music ranging from Pachelbel?s famous Canon in D major and Gershwin?s popular and much-loved Rhapsody in Blue to the majesty of the overture to Wagner?s opera Tannhäuser, plus much more. Highlights of the concert include Scriabin?s Nocturne in D flat major for the left hand and Lavignac?s Galope-Marche for eight hands on one piano! The evening will be filled with virtuoso playing on a grand scale and is bound to astound and delight in equal measure.
Robin Colvill is a highly-versatile pianist whose performances include solo, duo and chamber concerts as well as masterclasses. Throughout his noteworthy career, he has performed regularly in the UK, Europe, Cuba and the Caribbean and has worked with many eminent musicians such as Jacqueline du Pré, Nigel Kennedy and Pinchas Zuckerman. Robin is a Principal of Maestro Music Management.

Joseph Tong and Waka Hasegawa form one of Britain?s leading piano duos ?Piano 4 Hands” A number of composers have written new works for the duo, most notably John McCabe. Much in demand throughout the UK and abroad, this Piano Extravaganza with MaestroMM marks their debut in Lanzarote.

Saturday 10 September at the stylish and sophisticated Puerto Calero Marina.
Once again, musicians from the island are invited to participate in a Jam Session onstage at 7.30pm, whilst the main concert commences at 8pm.
In addition, MaestroMM have teamed with Amura Restaurant, Puerto Calero to offer a special 3-course dinner for all concert-goers. Following the concert, there is the chance to enjoy a set menu with three choices of starter, main and dessert, a glass of cava and coffee.
