The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, received in La Villa de Teguise the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Isaac Castellano, where they discussed several projects that the City Council has designed to boost its historical-heritage value, as is the extension of the most important Municipal Archive in the province of Las Palmas, and for which the regional council had committed to contribute 100,000 euros for the improvement of the facilities.

In addition, the director announced the expected  award of the rehabilitation work of the Paseo de Las Cucharas will be made before the end of the year.

As current adviser in the area of ​​Tourism, Culture and Sports, Isaac Castellano showed great interest in the projects of Teguise in its eagerness to promote and maintain its legacy and historical heritage,and assured that “the necessary mechanisms will be sought to acquire a real commitment in the autonomic budgets to contribute to the development of the events that will commemorate the 600th anniversary of Teguise’s history in 2018. ”

Also, in sports, the mayor of Teguise moved the counsellor his intention to promote the European Windsurf Championship of Costa Teguise worldwide, “with the projection that this would mean for Teguise and its goal of positioning the municipality as a tourist-sports destination and further promote its profitability, “Oswaldo Betancort declared,” a project for which we require the support of the regional government, “he conclude
