The BOE publishes the fine print of the aid to the self-employed from October

All the official requirements and conditions to be able to access the benefits of the self-employed from October.

The BOE has just published how the new aid for the self-employed will be from October 2020, due to COVID . Below we list all the real requirements to meet, in order to access them. When you have to ask for the aid, how long will it last, and how much will you charge. Issues that, in some cases, are now revealed with the publication of the BOE.

In the first place, we have the benefit when the activity is suspended by resolution of the competent authority. In other words, if a self-employed person is forced to close his business because the authorities so designate, he can collect a termination benefit.

You will have to meet two requirements:

  1. that has been registered in the Self-Employed Regime for at least 30 calendar days.
  2. that you are up to date with payments with Social Security.

In that case he will charge 420 euros. Or 660 in the case of a large family. When will you charge it? From the closing date until the last day of the opening month. Be careful that the self-employed in multiple activities are left out unless those extra income is less than 1.25 times the Minimum Interprofessional Salary.

The self-employed person who needs to access this benefit must request it within fifteen calendar days from when the closure of their activity is decreed.

Benefit for freelancers with less income

There will also be a benefit for the self-employed who have been registered since April 1 and up to date with Social Security payments, and who have no income in the last quarter above the Minimum Interprofessional Salary (950 euros).

They will also have to demonstrate a reduction in the fourth quarter of at least 50% on the revenues presented in the first quarter of this year. This is one of the main novelties, because it modifies the usual calculation that was carried out on 75%.

Those who fit this description will be charged 420 euros. The application must be submitted in the first 15 days of October, and it will last a maximum of four months. If it is presented a posteriori, the total duration of the benefit may never exceed January 31, 2021. Multi-activity work is once again excluded if the conditions described above are met.

Benefit for seasonal freelancers: the one that demands the most

To access the seasonal freelance service, it will be mandatory to have been registered as a freelancer for four months from June to December. Both in 2018 and 2019. That is, eight months in total. And if you have also worked as a salaried employee in that period, do not exceed four months in two years.

Nor can he have been registered between March 1 and May 31 of this year. Nor have they received any benefit in the first half of this year, unless it was compatible with self-employment. And finally, not having received more than 23,275 euros so far this year. If all these requirements are met, you can request a benefit that will amount to 660 euros.

It can be requested now, and will last for a maximum of four months. With a maximum collection date that will never exceed January 31, 2020.
