The Cabildo announces the unfolding of the Airport-Puerto del Carmen highway (LZ 40)

The Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, points out that this action will meet citizen demands and improve the accessibility of the road
The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Public Works area, directed by Jacobo Medina, will carry out a work with which a second lane will be added to the LZ-40 road, with the aim of improving the connectivity of the road between the Airport César Manrique and Puerto del Carmen. The Deputy Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of the Government of the Canary Islands puts out to tender the project for an amount of 382,638 euros and this will have an execution period of 10 months from the beginning of the action.
The president of the first insular institution, Mar ía Dolores Corujo, highlights this project as “a great beginning for the commitment acquired by the Ministry of Public Works of the Government of the Canary Islands with Lanzarote in terms of roads and to pay off the debt that the regional Executive it has with the Island in road infrastructures ”.
For his part, the councilor responsible for the area, Jacobo Medina, points out that undertaking this action will not only provide a solution to the demands of citizens, but will also improve the accessibility of a road as busy as the section between the Airport and Puerto del Carmen .
It should be noted that, among the special conditions of execution of this contract, is the promotion of the employment of people with particular difficulties of insertion in the labor market and the hiring of people registered as job seekers in the offices of the Canary Islands Employment Service, giving priority to young people and the long-term unemployed, in order to promote youth employment and provide opportunities for workers who have been unemployed for the longest time.
