The Cabildo of Lanzarote has approved, as published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas (BOLP) on Monday, April 5, the regulatory bases of the economic benefits of social emergencies for people in vulnerable situations.

“The objective of these grants is to guarantee the right to social protection of people or family units in Lanzarote whose social situation is at risk due to the severe economic crisis we are experiencing,” said the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo.

For her part, the Minister of Social Welfare, Isabel Martín, an area that promotes these benefits, recalled that the origin of these aid is in the health crisis caused by Covid19 that has been transmitted to the economy and society at an unprecedented speed, affecting both the productive activity and the demand and well-being of the citizens of Lanzarote.

The bases indicate that the maximum amount of aid to receive will be 3,000 euros per family unit living together.

The type of aid that is contemplated includes two modalities: the delivery of vouchers or prepaid cards of establishments of basic necessities such as food, medicines, personal hygiene and cleaning; or the granting of financial aid to cover primary needs related to accommodation, transportation, health, training or of an extraordinary nature.

The deadline for requesting benefits will remain open throughout the year 2021 and requests will be addressed to the Presidency of the Cabildo de Lanzarote through its own registry of Benefits and / or Social Welfare or in the Central registry, or through the electronic headquarters.
