The Cabildo invests 40 million in improving the island social health services as reported today in Digital Lancelot

 

The Cabildo of Lanzarote informs that to cover the needs of the population of the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa in terms of social welfare, the Institution has a complete map and network of assistance resources that are offered through some 28 socio-health centers.

 

 

 

In total there are 5 residential care centers for minors in distress who are managed through the Cabildo de Lanzarote: the ‘César Manrique’ juvenile center, the ‘Timanfaya’ juvenile center, the ‘Arrecife’ juvenile center. , the ‘Tinajo’ juvenile center and an emergency device for unaccompanied foreign minors in ‘Yaiza’. Through this resource, the integral development of the children is sought through an educational action defined in the individual educational project and in the program of centers or homes aimed at covering the physical, cognitive, moral, affective and relational needs of children. and the girls who are under averages of protection or guardianship of the administration.

 

 

 

For women and sons and daughters victims of gender violence, the area of ​​Social Welfare protects two centers, the immediate reception center (CAI) and a Shelter House (CA). It also has a specialized service, through the Center for Equality and Care for Women (CIAM), which, among other services and help, offers social, psychological and legal counseling, providing women with the necessary strategies and resources to face the situation of violence, through this women’s information center.

 

 

 

Regarding disability and dependency, the Island Council of Lanzarote has a complete network of social and health centers that offer a care and accommodation coverage for the care of dependent persons and / or disabled persons.

 

 

 

For people with severe mental disorders, it has 3 centers, the Dr. Julio Santiago Obeso Psychosocial Rehabilitation Unit, the psychosocial rehabilitation center (CRPS) and the residential care service for sheltered homes.

 

 

 

This network of centers is also complemented by a complete assistance network in the intellectual disability sector through 8 social-health centers and residences, such as the residence of need of third person, the center of day of need of third person, the residence of intellectual disability, the occupational center and intellectual disability day center, 3 other functional homes of intellectual disability and the center for child development and early care for children with disabilities.

 

 

 

For dependent seniors, in addition to the new residence for seniors of high requirement that will be built in the Los Calderones area, in Tahíche, the Cabildo currently has 7 other centers and operational residences: the residence of elderly people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias Dr. Domingo de Guzmán, the day center Las Cabreras, the day center for elderly people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias on the island of La Graciosa, the residence attached to the Insular Hospital, the residence for the elderly and day center ‘Amavir Tías ‘, the senior residence and day center’ Amavir Haría ‘and the senior center and day center’ San Roque ‘.

 

 

 

With regard to the assistance network in the matter of addictions, it has the unit of attention to drug addiction, the residential unit of attention to drug addiction ‘Zonzamas (URD) ​​and the semi-residential unit of attention to drug addiction’ Zonzamas’.
