Lanzarote had exactly 5,000 companies in February of this year and since then their number has been increasing until adding 36 new businesses at the end of May.

However, in  June  there was a  drop for the first time in four months  to the  5,017 companies  that currently exist on the island, according to figures published by the Lanzarote Data Center based on Social Security statistics.

The municipality that has lost the most companies has been  San Bartolomé , where  14 businesses have closed . The current total for the municipality that includes Playa Honda is  475  companies.

Arrecife , in second place,  has lost 9  businesses during June, bringing  its total to 1,903  companies today.

Haría  has one less company so that his total amounts to  110  and  Teguise  has lost three, so that he remains at  726  businesses.

For its part, the business fabric of  Tías has not undergone changes and continues to have  the  1,070  companies that were recorded the previous month.

The only  municipalities that have increased  their number of businesses have been  Tinajo , which has added three companies in June to  138 , and  Yaiza , where today there are three more companies than there were in May. The total for the southern municipality currently amounts to  651  companies.

The decrease in the number of companies during June has occurred in all the islands of the Canary archipelago.
