This is what the newly opened Arrecife Cruise Ship Pier terminal looks like. As seen in this time-lapse, it was built to provide services worthy of a port of embarkation and disembarkation for more than 600,000 cruise passengers annually.

The president of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, Beatriz Calzada, explained the new services on-site. “It’s a terminal that has exquisitely maintained the island’s aesthetics, while remaining respectful of the environment and sustainability,” she noted. “It’s a highly functional building that will streamline cruise passenger arrivals, passage through security, and baggage handling.”

The mayor of Arrecife has praised the construction of this terminal and asked the president of the Port Authority to also improve the so-called cruise ship promenade. “This terminal will be more friendly to cruise ship passengers, who number more than 600,000,” he stated, adding that “the entire promenade needs to be beautified, and I have asked the president of the Port Authority to do so.”

It’s worth noting that the Port Authority is aware that this year, 2025, will surpass the 610,000 cruise passenger numbers of last year, and that these modern facilities will offer services worthy of one of the busiest ports, especially during the winter season.
