The Foreign Promotion Society of Lanzarote (SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote) has been present in the roadshows (traveling events) that this summer have been carried out by two of the most important German tour operators of the Teutonic market, FTI and DER Touristik, visiting different cities of Germany, mainly from the east and northeast of the country Teuton.

 

The technical promoter of the Insular Entity of Promotion for Germany and Central Europe, attended at the end of July and the first of August to these two itinerant tourist shows that, in addition to the German capital, Berlin, also toured the cities of Leipzig, Dresden and Erfurt, where he showed the benefits of Lanzarote as a tourist destination before a total of 315 German travel agents.

 

Specifically, among all the places visited, the FTI roadshow, considered the fourth largest travel vendor in the country by volume of sales, brought together 235 travel agents, while DER, which ranks third in the ranking, only for behind TUI and Thomas Cook, he gathered a total of 80.

 

Germany and countries in its area of ​​influence

 

The Councilor for Tourism Promotion of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Ángel Vázquez (PP), highlights that “the importance of the action is part of the strategy carried out by Turismo Lanzarote reinforcing the promotion not only in the German market, one of the main for the island, but also in the countries of its area of ​​influence, the center and east of Europe, such as Poland or the Czech Republic, given the proximity of the airports of these German cities.It should also be noted that in “Germany nothing less than 80% of the sales of tourist package is carried out through travel agencies, so this type of actions carried out directly with the German travel prescribers is of great importance within the objectives of the insular Entity of Promotion ” .

 

For his part, the CEO of SPEL, Héctor Fernández, recalls that “Turismo Lanzarote has co-marketing agreements with the main German travel business groups, including DER Touristik and FTI”.
