The plaza of El Varadero de Puerto del Carmen was the scene on Tuesday of the celebration of World Tourism Day . From 6pm, dozens of tourists were able to see the development of Canarian crafts and taste typical products of Lanzarote, such as dried fish, potatoes, cheese, and gofio wine, and listen to the musical group El Pavon.

Late in the afternoon there was an exhibition of Canarian wrestling, in which bregadores exhibited all kinds of tricks. This was followed by a performance of folk groups of the municipality and Guerma Gaida, who managed to encourage the audience to participate in the canarian dances.

The culmination of the World Tourism Day put the release of helium balloons that flew into the sky with dozens of messages written by those present.

The Councillor for Tourism, Nerea Santana has moved its appreciation on behalf of the City of Tias, “visitors and tourists for the good welcome extended to the World Tourism Day celebrated in Puerto del Carmen, and all participants who have cooperated in organizing events. “
