The Aparthotel Paradise Island, which for years has occupied a plot of the Municipality of Yaiza private sports courts and mini golf, has launched a new project by asking the Ayunatmiento of Yaiza to lease them more land to build a “theme park” that includes a water park. At an extraordinary and urgent planning session, which the opposition complains that the Ayuntamiento of Yaiza called last night and did not give any data or documentation, the group of government gave the green light to this initiative.

“Yaiza approved the initiative presented by a HL chain hotel in Playa Blanca, which provides for the preparation of a green area adjacent to a resort hotel located in the residential plot of Montaña Roja. It will be a play area and outdoor sports, like a small theme park. ”

Despite the scale of the project which aims to promote the hotel, and even includes the construction of an aquapark, the Town Hall has given no explanation about this initiative, including the transfer of land to a private enterprise. Moreover, this plot is seen as green, and the partial plan has not apparently yet been delivered to City Hall.

The company intends to continue to participate in municipal land adjacent to the hotel. In fact, the very project presented by the hotel company said a parcel owned by the Southern Consistory, in plot number 61, “adjacent to the other owned land Aparthotel Paradise Island “, also of the HL chain. In this document, the company recognizes that it is not the first time that the City would yield municipal land. Today, “Paradise Island” has two tennis courts, soccer fields and a mini-golf on the grounds.

The chain now claims that HL is involved in the whole plot of municipal property. It wants to build, among other equipment, a “Cactus Garden”, which could have three large cages with all sorts of birds and, in addition to a river. But in addition, the company intends to build a waterpark in a second plot, it is claimed in the project, “Paradise Island apartment property.”

In the brief explanations provided by the municipality of Yaiza in its press release, nothing was said about this project involving the transfer of municipal land.
